The RDI Story: A Story of Advantage Preston Miller and Barry Wally founded Raceparts Distribution, Inc. (RDI) in 1991. Managing Ford's NASCAR program convinced Preston there was a pressing need to have a parts distribution warehouse in the heart of Winston Cup country. At the same time, Barry was convinced that there was a need for a racing season supply presence in the area. Together, they established RDI to serve the racing and after-market community with a ready supply of parts coupled with years of experience in racing, engine building, and after-market performance modification. Over the last 13 years RDI has grown into a diversified business with customers ranging from top tier Nextel Cup teams to back-yard mechanics. Serving customers as varied as Robert Yates Racing, Saleen-Allen, Billy Glidden, and Superformance has given the employees of RDI a breadth and depth of experience relating to Ford performance that is rarely found in the automotive industry.
