Raceparts adds the RDI 427DE to our comprehensive line of large-displacement small-block engine packages. This is a Drivability Enhanced version of the RDI engine Package #8 with the same 4-bolt main block, forged rods and forged crankshaft with 2.750" main bearings. Specially prepared cylinder heads and dual-plane manifold provide more than adequate torque and horsepower with better performance in slow traffic driving. Still the weight is 85 pounds less than the FE iron block and 135 pounds less than the 460 iron block engines. All new *Ford Racing Performance Parts* (FRPP) and aftermarket components have been carefully selected, assembled and tested to provide performance for the track and superior tractability for the road. Assembly is by experienced, professional Ford race engine builders using quality components provided and controlled by RDI. The engines are complete, dyno-tuned and ready to install in your Superformance Mk III.
ENGINE FEATURES 1. Short Block: FRPP HD 4-bolt iron block, 4.000" stroke forged crankshaft, forged H-beam connecting rods with 3/8” diameter ARP bolts, 10:1 RDI dome design Mahle forged pistons, ring package and full floating pins. Internal-balanced rotating assembly with FRPP SFI approved damper and billet flywheel. 2. Cylinder Heads: Edelbrock Victor, Jr. aluminum heads with 2.055" intake and 1.600" exhaust premium stainless steel valves, Comp Cams special valve spring system and Teflon seals. RDI specification cylinder head preparation blends multi-angle valve seats into the reshaped combustion chambers. 3. Camshaft: RDI specification CompCams steel billet dual-pattern hydraulic roller. 4. Valve Train: FRPP multi-index true-roller timing chain, Crane hydraulic roller tappets, Comp Cams hardened 5/16" pushrods and Comp Cams 1.6:1 aluminum roller rocker arms on 7/16" studs. 5. Intake Manifold: Dual-plane Edelbrock Performer RPM. 6. Carburetor: RDI prepped Holley 770 HP w/ vacuum secondary. (Others carburetors are available.) 7. Air Cleaner: FRPP chrome 13-inch air cleaner. Flywheel: 157-tooth billet steel, "0" balanced, installed and ready to receive the RAM or McLeod 26-spline clutch kit for a Ford Tremec transmission.
