RDI is proud to offer the RDI 392HP
engine package. This is a Performance and Durability Upgrade
to the popular "One-Lap" Superformance RDI 392 engine package #3. The RDI
392HP delivers a more "racy" feel and sound that some owners believe
better suits these vehicles. Seventy more horsepower is produced by
more porting, more camshaft and more carburetor. Built with forged
crankshaft and forged pistons. Still the weight is 95 pounds less
than the FE iron block engines, and 145 pounds less than the 460 iron block
engines. All new Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP) and aftermarket components have been carefully selected, assembled and tested to provide serious performance for the track and reasonable tractability for the road. Assembly is by experienced, professional Ford race engine builders using quality components provided and controlled by RDI. The engines are complete, dyno-tuned and ready to install in your Superformance Mk III. |

ENGINE FEATURES 1. Short Block: FRPP A58 "Sportsman", 2-bolt iron block, 3.850" stroke forged crankshaft, forged H-beam connecting rods with 3/8” diameter ARP bolts, 9.7:1 SRP forged pistons with full floating pins and plasma moly-filled steel top rings. Internal balanced with standard 0 in-oz damper and flywheel. 2. Cylinder Heads: CNC AFR 205 or ported Edelbrock Victor, Jr. aluminum race heads with 2.055" intake and 1.600" exhaust premium stainless steel valves, racing dual valve springs, titanium retainers, keepers and Teflon seals. RDI performance porting blends multi-angle valve seats into the reshaped combustion chambers. 3. Camshaft: RDI specification Comp Cams steel billet dual-pattern hydraulic roller. 4. Valve Train: FRPP multi-index true-roller timing chain, Crane hydraulic roller tappets, Comp Cams hardened 5/16" pushrods and Comp Cams 1.6:1 aluminum roller rocker arms on 7/16" studs. 5. Intake Manifold: Single-plane Edelbrock "Victor, Jr." with runners matched and contoured for flow continuity with the head ports. (For better driveability, the "Torker II" and "Performer RPM" manifolds are available.) 6. Carburetor: RDI modified Holley 830cfm "Winston Cup", double-pumper. (Others carburetors are available.) 7. Air Cleaner: FRPP chrome 14-inch air cleaner. (Other air cleaners are available.) 8. Valve Covers: FRPP 'tall' polished aluminum valve covers. (Other valve covers are available.) 9. Oil Pan: Canton Road Racing, "T" style, front-sump with 9-quart capacity. Standard-volume, adjustable Melling oil pump and heavy-duty shaft. Pressure adjusted for external system losses. (Other oil pans are available.) 10. Accessory Drive: FRPP aluminum under drive V-belt pulley system with 95 Amp. 2-wire alternator. 11. Fuel Pump: Mechanical Carter high-performance with -6AN braided hose to the carburetor fuel log. 12. Flywheel: 157-tooth RAM billet aluminum, balanced, installed and ready to receive the RAM or McLeod 26-spline clutch kit for a Tremec TKO or TKO II. (Steel flywheel and other clutch packs are available.) 13. Ignition: Accel billet aluminum distributor with FRPP high performance wires and loom. (MSD is available.) 14. Starter: High torque FRPP starter. Race-prepped and load-tested. Cable included. 15. Testing: Engine is run-in and dyno-tested, inspected for leaks, then carefully crated for shipment. 16. Documentation: Engine specification, dyno sheet and installation instructions are packed with the engine. 17. Options: This RDI6007COB3HP engine can be "personalized" for reasonable extra cost. |
