RDI is very proud to present the RDI 427 engine package. It has been developed to satisfy the Superformance owner desiring the ultimate blend of on-track performance, street drivability and the pride of ownership of a "427 engine" in a 351 Windsor package. The RDI 427 weighs 470 pounds, 60 pounds less than iron block 351's, 180 pounds less than the FE iron block engines, and 230 pounds less than the 460 iron block engines.

All new Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP) and aftermarket components have been carefully selected, machined, assembled and tested to provide high performance for the track and tractability for the road. Assembly is by experienced, professional Ford race engine builders using quality components provided and controlled by RDI. The engines are dyno-tuned with premium unleaded fuel and ready to install to complete your "427 Cobra".

ENGINE FEATURES

1. Short Block: FRPP Z351 RDI aluminum 351 block with 4.125” bore. forged 4.000" stroke crankshaft. Heavy-duty H-beam connecting rods with ARP fasteners. Forged 10:1 Mahle pistons. Internally balanced.

2. Cylinder Heads: Ported FRPP Z304, AFR 205 or Edelbrock Victor, Jr. aluminum race heads with 2.055" intake and 1.600" exhaust premium stainless steel valves, Comp Cams valve spring system and Teflon seals. RDI specification cylinder head preparation blends multi-angle valve seats into the reshaped combustion chambers.

3. Camshaft: RDI specification Comp Cams steel billet dual-pattern hydraulic roller.

4. Valve Train: FRPP multi-index true-roller timing chain, Crane hydraulic roller lifter, Comp Cams hardened 5/16" pushrods and Comp Cams 1.6:1 aluminum roller rocker arms on 7/16" studs.

5. Intake Manifold: Dual-plane aluminum Edelbrock "Performer RPM" designed for excellent low-end drivability with good power. (For 30 more horsepower, the single-plane "Victor, Jr." manifold is available.)

6. Carburetor: RDI modified Holley 770 HP w/ vacuum secondary. (Others carburetors are available.)

7. Air Cleaner: FRPP chrome 13-inch air cleaner. (Other air cleaners are available.)

8. Valve Covers: "Raceparts" polished aluminum valve covers. (Several FRPP valve covers are available.)

9. Oil Pan: Canton Road Racing, "T" style, front-sump with 9-quart capacity. standard-volume, adjustable Melling oil pump and heavy-duty shaft. Pressure adjusted to compensate for external system losses.

10. Accessory Drive: FRPP aluminum under drive V-belt pulley system with 95 Amp. 2-wire alternator.

11. Fuel Pump: Mechanical Carter high-performance with -6AN braided hose to the carburetor fuel log.

12. Flywheel: 157-tooth billet steel, "0" balanced, installed and ready to receive the RAM or McLeod 26-spline clutch kit for a Ford Tremec transmission. (Aluminum flywheel and other clutch packs are available.)

13. Ignition: RDI prepped billet distributor with FRPP high performance wires and loom.

14. Starter: High torque FRPP starter. Race-prepped and load tested. Cable is included.

15. Testing: Engine is run-in and dyno-tested, inspected for leaks, then carefully crated for shipment.

16. Documentation: Engine specification, dyno sheet and installation instructions are packed with the engine.

17. Options: The RDI6007COB6 engine can be "personalized" for reasonable extra cost.
